The FIRST LEGO LEAGUE robotics competition
Polyeco is a proud sponsor of the iRobot team of Kessaris private schools, participating in the largest nationwide children competition for Educational Robotics, Research, and Innovation. The First Lego League is an approved program by the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs, introducing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to children aged 4-16 through fun, exciting, and practical learning. This year's competition theme is energy, and FIRST® LEGO® League teams will first explore where energy comes from, how it is distributed, stored, and used. Then, they will use their creativity to build an innovative and better energy-efficient future.
The iRobot team, with the support of Polyeco’s Research & Development Department, designed an anaerobic digestion reactor that produces electric energy from cigarette butts. iRobot achieved the highest score in the qualifying matches and advanced to the finals, impressing both in the robotics missions, completing all tasks, and with their innovative project.
Warm congratulations to the entire team for their qualification and for earning the sponsorship of the Hellenic Recycling Organization, elevating the project to a municipal level!
