TIMELINE HISTORY

Polyeco was established in 2001 as the country's first and only integrated and fully licensed waste management and valorization industry in Greece. Today, it is regarded as one of the top global suppliers of environmental solutions.

Investing in and implementing such a venture in Greece was based on the successful outcome of research carried out by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT), with the participation of the Universities of Patras and Crete, as well as the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Titan Cement S.A., and the parent company Environmental Protection Engineering S.A.

THE GROWTH OF POLYECO: Important milestones

2001

Foundation of POLYECO S.A. in Aspropyrgos

2005

Expansion of activities into producing chemical additives to reduce emissions

2006

Foundation of POLYECO in Thessaloniki

2007

Construction of a new plant for alternative fuel production

2008

Dawning of International Business Operations

2012

Commissioning of MEGAECO S.A. to produce compost from organic waste

2015

Establishment of the companies ECORECOVERY S.A. and NORDECO S.A. for the production of alternative fuel from non-hazardous waste.

2016

Establishment of NORDECO S.A. in Thessaloniki to produce alternative fuels from non-hazardous waste.

2017

Establishment of ECORECOVERY S.A. in Boeotia to produce alternative fuels from non-hazardous waste

2018

Completion of the construction of the new plant in Mandra, Attica, for the treatment and recovery of batteries and light bulbs, and the production of additives to reduce emissions into the atmosphere.

2020

Expansion of Polyeco into physicochemical treatment of liquid waste.

2022

1st Sustainability Report

2023

Start of operations of the model sterilization unit for HAICW (Hazardous and Infectious Clinical Waste).
