Message from the Chairman
Through our Sustainable Development Strategy, we at Polyeco reaffirm our ongoing commitment to progress in areas involved by our business activities and affect our stakeholders. Progress comes through continuous development of our services, investment in our people, modernization of production technologies, and digital transformation. Always with our focus on sustainability, we implement our strategic plans with responsibility toward contemporary challenges that are transforming our world, such as climate change and the urgent need for green transition. For us, our strong commitment to Sustainable Development is not just an obligation. It is part of our corporate culture, a way of thinking, and top priority. According to a study by the European Public Service Union on 2023, the total waste generated in the EU from all economic activities and households amounted to 2.3 million tonnes in 2018 (the latest available data). This equates to about 5.2 tonnes per capita of the EU population. While public attention often focuses on household waste, this accounts for only 8% of the total, compared to industries like manufacturing, construction, and others. The services offered by our company focus on industrial and other sectors, where waste management is more demanding and environmentally significant. In this context, our company manages hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste by applying best practices and leading the market in producing secondary fuels and alternative raw materials from the management of industrial waste, aiming to completely prevent their disposal in landfills. Recent years have provoked significant challenges in the fields of ESG.
In the Environmental sector and clean energy production, we invested in renewable energy projects, achieving a gradual increase in clean energy production from renewable sources.
In the Social sector, we continue to support our stakeholders through sponsorships and other initiatives, investing in cultural, athletic, and social activities with high impact.
Finally, in Governance, we strengthened our commitment to operating with ethic, transparency, and integrity, achieving zero confirmed incidents of corruption, legal violations, or human rights abuses.
Our ability to continuously improve our work through best practices and innovation in our industry is supported by our fully trained and dedicated workforce. A fundamental principle of our people’s strategy is continuous education and the provision of the necessary tools to enable them to perform at their best. At the same time, we have established corporate processes that allow each employee to meet new challenges, evolving themselves through teamwork.
We are proud that, through the results of our work, we are consistently being recognized as leaders in our field, thanks to the results of our work and our unwavering commitment to sustainability and circular economy. We are eager to continue advancing our shared objectives, collaborating closely with our employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders, always striving for continuous improvement.
