Liquid Waste Management

At Polyeco's facilities in Aspropyrgos, the management of liquid waste amenable to physicochemical treatment is offered. The available equipment includes automated units for: • Processing of oily residues • Physicochemical treatment of acidic/alkaline waste.

In the oily residues processing unit, storage, oil-water separation, and physicochemical treatment of the aqueous portion of the waste are achieved. Incoming wastes include emulsions, aqueous sludges, washout wastes from equipment, fuel wastes, and generally organic liquids. The performed tasks include also the decanting of the produced sludge and production of secondary alternative fuel for energy recovery.

The physicochemical treatment unit for acidic/alkaline waste offers the capacity to manage inorganic aqueous wastes with extreme pH values, mainly originating from surface metal processing, and generally liquids with extreme pH. Processes such as neutralization, precipitation of heavy metals and other hazardous pollutants, reduction of Cr(VI), and decanting of physicochemical sludges are provided.
