POLYECO has established a new, up to date unit, at the plant in Aspropyrgos, for the sterilization of infectious waste from hospitals and general healthcare units. The unit significantly contributes to the sustainable and rational management of medical waste. The Infectious Waste Sterilization Unit provides a safe and environmentally sound solution to the problem of infectious waste disposal.

The entire process of planning, implementation, installation, and operation of the unit fully complies with current trends and technological developments, as well as the strictest environmental regulations, while remaining faithful to the principles of the circular economy.

An indication of our environmental consciousness is that the sterilized waste resulting from the processing of infectious waste at Polyeco does not end up in landfills but instead is used for energy recovery.
