Gold Medal at the International iGEM Competition
We are delighted to announce that the student team iGEM Ioannina 2025, proudly sponsored by Polyeco, has been awarded the Gold Medal at the International iGEM Synthetic Biology Competition (Grand Jamboree), held in Paris.
This prestigious achievement—earned for the second consecutive year—highlights the team’s strong presence and growing influence within the global scientific community.
The team’s project, titled AMADRYADS, introduces an innovative and environmentally safe solution for addressing Canker Stain of Plane Trees, a disease with significant ecological and cultural implications for Greece and Europe. Their approach underscores the importance of linking scientific research with sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The team expressed its sincere gratitude to Polyeco, emphasizing that our support was instrumental both for their participation in the competition and for their compelling presentation on the international stage.
At Polyeco, we strongly believe in the power of innovation, in the potential of the next generation of scientists, and in collaborations that pave the way toward a more sustainable future. The success of iGEM Ioannina 2025 is a source of great pride for us and reaffirms the importance of supporting initiatives that generate meaningful, positive impact.
Warm congratulations to all team members for their outstanding performance. We are proud to have stood by their side throughout this journey.
